The Nightingale – The nightingale, in love with the Christmas tree and the flickering candle flame, flutters through the night on its papery wings. They are transformers – before taking flight on light wings, they are born as predators. Although we don’t always notice it, moths are not inferior to butterflies in their beauty – they have intricate patterns and markings on their wings, like the Madagascar parasitoid butterfly or the yellowish-brown polyphemus butterfly. Moths are tiny, with slightly fluttering wings, and also large and conspicuous, like the well-known Atlas moth, which is the size of a human palm. At the predator stage, they are close to the ground. At this stage, some of them weave silk, which has been used by humans for centuries to make silk. Most nocturnal moths spend most of their lives at night, where they pollinate plants that flower only at night. Since time immemorial, they have been associated with the light of the moon and candles, as well as much more frightening phenomena such as death and ghosts. They really do seem ghostly, moving silently in the darkness, and when the moonbeams fall on them, their wings seem to glow. It is said that some species bring warnings of impending death or foretell the loss of memory and sanity. We don’t know why they are drawn to the light, but because of their fragile beauty and their willingness to search for a ray of light in the darkness, we can see their beautiful wisdom, their silence and their awe of the light in the darkness of night. Even in the darkest of times, light, goodness and beauty can be found. Death is a part of life and should be treated with respect and reverence, not fear. Even in it, beauty can be found. The nightingale teaches us to make our hearts lighter and softer in times of darkness and to keep searching for the light.
