MAGUS MANDEL – vitality, energy giver. Prunus Amygdalu Dulcis – colourless or pale yellow, odourless, very light oil. The almond tree is native to the Central East and Southern Asia, but is also grown in various parts of Southern Europe and warmer regions of the USA. The fruit of the tree is not actually a nut, but a stone fruit, which means a fleshy shell with a seed inside a firm shell. Almond oil is extracted from the bone marrow of the ripe fruit. Almond oil is very similar to apricot kernel oil and peach kernel oil. Suitable for all-round use, it is a nourishing, very emollient pale golden oil. It has a mildly warming energy. High in monounsaturated fatty acids, penetrating and conditioning the skin. Suitable for all skin types, especially good for dry, inflamed and itchy skin. Suitable for nourishing dry skin as well as for various skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. It also has mild anti-inflammatory properties. It is a popular massage oil because it allows the hand to move easily over the surface of the skin and is easily absorbed, while staying on the skin long enough during the massage and keeping the skin moisturised, not greasy. Its emollient and nourishing properties make it an excellent all-over moisturiser and help to keep skin looking healthy and fresh. Rich in fatty acids and mainly oleic acids (Omega9) and the natural antioxidant vitamin E, it is a good choice for mature skin.
