The Yin Yang is the most known of Chinese symbols. The twin forces are intertwined and none could exist without the other. Yin literally means, ‘What is in the shadow’ and Yang “What is in the light” are in perfect balance. The 8 trigrams surrounding the Yin Yang figure are the symbols constituting the foundation of Yi King or the Book of Mutations. It represents the 8 directions of the Chi within the Cosmos and in the Perfect Being.
